First Review God of War

God of War for Playstation 2

Hands down the game of the year for maniacs and geeks who ever read Edith Hamilton’s Mythology. Or nerds who watched that movie with that guy from LA LAW, Clash of the Titans . You know who you are and you know you loved it, and what you don’t know is that this is the game for you.

God Of War combines some of the most amazing graphics, background, and challenges that a game could present to any gamer. At Gamefester we played the game through on easy. We beat it. We went on to Normal mode. We beat that. We went onto to God mode, and found that challenging but great. We did this in a span of a week, and enjoyed every minute of it. Even though you swear you get déjà vu after playing through it once, you continue on. You strive you fight on, to beat the game to just see what rewards the programmers give you for defeating the game on the various modes. And they are sweet. Oh sweet victory from my loins. Oh sweet victory.

Gamefester found the greatest challenge being mortal. Yes being mortal interferes with your playing time. Why do I have to have a bladder? Why do I have to go to work? Why do I have to respond to falling asleep? I mean we are not those Korean guys who just go at it, and end up falling on their keyboards dead from overgaming. But hey, we try our best don’t we? And there were plenty of Red Bulls, And Lo CARB Monster (another review coming on energy drinks) to fuel our hours of gaming. Fuel, always important, always available. Isn’t America great when you get an energy drink immediately at anytime of day?

God Of War has the usual greatness about it, and the not so usual. From the first stage battling the Kraken, to the amazing City of Athens being destroyed by a three hundred foot Ares (estimated at 300 ft.) you are transformed from mild mannered geek/gamer to WMD status in the blink of an eye. You just thrill at the blood and guts and carnage you create with your Blades of Chaos. You are amazed at the power coursing through your body as your Blast them with Posiedons Rage. OH THE CARNAGE!!!! And finally when you start getting those crazy attacks through blade upgrades, you begin to realize that beneath your skin, lies the heart of a Spartan, a God. Spinning Blades of Chaos just slices through so many, and you just wish, just WISH that you could take those spinning blades and start from the beginning with all that you know. The Carnage you would create!!!

Overall, the review of this game is Ten Monster Energy Drinks out of Ten. Two for sound, two for gameplay, two for carnage factor, two for controls, and two for background. We didn’t include two for flinching. But You get it, now go get it, and find yourself wanting more from this franchise. GO IMMEDIATELY!! Its probably $19.99, honestly, its cheap, and worth the price of admission. GET IT! GO!
